William Charles McGory

Clifton Springs, William Charles McGory, Sr., age 82, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024.

Services will be announced at a later date.

Bill was born  on January 11, 1942 to the late Edward and Lillian (Eicke) McGory. He was a graduate of Gorham High school. Bill served in the U. S. Army from 1960 to 1963. Bill was retired from the V.A. Medical Center in Canandaigua. He was a member of the Geneva American Legion.

Bill was an avid Yankees fan, and loved sports, including NASCAR and the Buffalo Bills. He also loved game shows, especially Jeopardy.

Bill enjoyed traveling with his wife, Gayle, as they toured the United States after retirement. He was a gentle soul, who enjoyed and was proud of his family.

Bill is survived by his wife, Gayle; son, William (Gina Wilk) McGory, Jr.; daughter, Maureen L. McGory; 6 grandchildren, William (Hannah) McGory III, Kayla McGory, Barbara McGory, Hunter McGory, Tanner McGory and Tyler McGory; 7 great-grandchildren, Ayven, Trystessa, Violette, Cristo, William IV and Roman; 3 step-daughters, Sheri (Wayne) Conklin, Ann Bounds and Jennifer (Kevin) Bell; 5 step-grandchildren, Paul (Tina) Conklin, David Conklin, Elhayna White, Sydney Bell and Kyle Bell; and 1 step-great-granddaughter, Charlotte.

He is also survived by 5 siblings, John McGory, Fran (Jane) McGory, Peggy Libertore, Ann (Ed) Coelho and Ed (Barb) McGory.

Bill was predeceased by his son, Matthew Charles McGory; great-granddaughter, Vivien; his parents; and four brothers, Gerald, Don, Butch and Jim.
