Obituary
Stanley- Wayne King Hovey, age 83, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, at his home.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday (Dec. 30th) at 11 a.m. at the Reed Corners Federated Church. Burial will be in Reed Corners Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Reed Corners Federated Church 4030 Rte. 247, Canandaigua, NY 14424.
Wayne was born July 3, 1934 in York, NY, to the late Walter George Hovey and Mildred Virginia King Hovey. He was the husband of Barbara A. Handel Hovey. They were married May 20, 1961 at the Liska’s Kill Reformed Church, Schenectady, NY, by the Rev. Cornelius Van Heist.
Wayne was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and a member of the Reed Corners Federated Church. He enjoyed flying, motorcycling, ham radios and camping.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Barbara Hovey; daughter, Michele (David Johnson) Hovey Childs of Rochester, NY; son, Bruce (Diane) Hovey of Stanley, NY; brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Joyce Hovey of Pavilion, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
Wayne was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Richard Toland of Piffard.
