Obituary
Rushville- W. Bruce Martin, 86, died peacefully at home on Sunday, July 16, 2017, holding the hand of his wife of 60 years.
Friends may call Friday (July 21st) from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Rushville United Methodist Church.
A Funeral Service will follow at 2 p.m.
Burial will be in Rushville Cemetery.

Bruce a graduate of Middlesex Valley Central School, class of 1948. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Alaska. Bruce a member of the National American Legion Post #0001. On December 26, 1956, he married Shirley Hemmer at St. Joseph Church in Wayland.
Bruce worked at Ralph Martin Tire until 1964. He owned and operated the Martin’s Dry Goods Store until his retirement.
He was honored in 2017 as a “Dedicated Citizen”, by the Rushville Historical Society. He and his wife, Shirley, were honored in the Memorial Day Parade. Bruce was a member of the Rushville First United Methodist Church.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Shirley Hemmer Martin; two sisters, Lois Bailey of Branchport and Glenna Hughner of Virginia; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Bruce was predeceased by his parents, William and Mildred Conley Martin; and by his sister, Betty J. Martin; and brother, Ralph Martin.
