Obituary

Stanley- Virgil L. “Buck” Brown, age 86, died Tuesday, May 24, 2022.

          Services will be private.

          Memorial contributions may be made to the Stanley Fire Dept., P.O. Box 481, Stanley, NY 14561.

          “Buck” was born Oct. 23, 1935 in Bluffton, Indiana, the son of the late Lloyd and Mary Poling Brown. 

          He married Audrey Hurlbutt on Oct. 18, 1958 and they lovingly enjoyed their life together for 63 ½ years.  He also spent 27 years working for the Seneca-Gorham Telephone Company, retiring in 1992.

          Buck enjoyed many activities throughout his years to include hunting, fishing, golfing, and he was an accomplished woodworker.  He had an interest in classic cars and lovingly restored his 1954 Ford truck back to mint condition.  Buck was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey;  four children, Scott and wife (Amy) Brown, Tammy Brown, Laurie and husband (Bob) Newman, Tracy and husband (Bob) Janeski;  four grandchildren, Abbey Brown, Sam Brown, Jennifer Sanchez and Brandon Barnes;  seven great-grandchildren, Heaven Berry, Meyanna Johnson,  Rileigh, Jalynn and Rikki Sanchez, Serena and Aria Barnes; sister, Marjorie Mowery; and several nieces and nephews.
