Obituary

Painted Post/Gorham – Steven J. Dunn, age 76, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 24, 2022.

Friends may call Friday (Jan. 28th) from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham, NY. A Funeral Service, with Military Honors, will be follow at the funeral home at 11 a.m.

Burial will be in Bath National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Coopers Plains Long Acres Fire Department, 210 Main St., Painted Post, NY 14870.

Steve was born March 12, 1945 in Geneva, NY. He was the son of the late LaVerne and Helen Dunn. Steve was a 1963 graduate of Gorham High School. He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. On April 17, 2010 he married Loretta Gee in Hornby, NY.

Steve was retired from Mobil Chemical. After retirement, he worked as a supervisor at the Ontario County ARC, and drove the city bus in Canandaigua.

Steve was a member of the Corning American Legion.
He enjoyed racing remote control cars. He also was a NASCAR fan, rooting for Chase Elliott, Kyle Larson and Ryan Truex. He was also a Buffalo Bills fan and was enjoying their winning season. Steve loved to visit with his friends and family.

Steve is survived by his wife, Loretta Dunn of Painted Post; three children, Tammy (Chris) Olson of Penn Yan, Jonathon (Jucelia) Dunn of NC and Stephanie (Reinaldo) Firmino of NC; five grandchildren, Connor, Colby, Kalya, Isabella and Sam; 1 great-grandson, Caisson; the mother of his children, Maria “Mayiyi” Furbush; two sisters, LaVon (Larry) Swan of Rochester, Lori (Richard) Lattier of OH; three brothers, Cory (Julie) Dunn of Manchester, Scott (Mary) Dunn of Stanley and David Dunn of Rochester; three step-sons, Roman (Christine) Sutton of Lindley, NY, William (Sherrie) Sutton of NC and Marvin (Cathy) Sutton of Horseheads; several step-grandchildren; two aunts, Marjorie Runner and Louise Johnson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Steve was predeceased by his wife, Carol in 2007.
