Obituary
Gorham- Shirley M. Taylor, 81, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the Homestead in Penn Yan with her family and friends at her side.
Friends and Family are invited to call at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham on Saturday (May 7th) from 2 – 4 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

Shirley was born in Benton Center, NY on January 13, 1935, the daughter of the late Mable and Chuck Pierson of Hall NY. She worked at Libby’s and Lohmann’s canning factory and raised her children in Gorham NY. Shirley embraced all kids from Gorham and surrounding towns. She was known as Momma Taylor to them. Shirley would welcome them into her home and always understand them when they felt alone. She enjoyed being artistic in painting and creative in crocheting.
Shirley will be missed by her friends and family: two daughters, Katherine Taylor Wells and Brenda (Bill) Dueck; two sons, Mitchell Taylor and James (Cheryl) Taylor; five granddaughters, Khya Krieger, Angie (Tim) Burd, Rachael Taylor, Samantha Taylor and Jamie (Cody) Darnell; three grandsons, Jeffrey Albert (Alysia) Laursen, Joshua (Ashley) Wells and Justin Taylor; family friend, David Reynolds & his children, Mitchell Reynolds, Bret Reynolds and Shelly Reynolds; 7 Great- grandchildren, Maison Dallas Burd, Carter James Laursen, Jaden Michael Wells, Isabel Manaco, Kash Allen Burd, Cali Jo Lynn and Hailee Arlene Laursen; one sister, Sylvia (David) Clarke; sister-in-law, Mary Pierson; nieces, Patty Pierson, Becky (Frank) Long and Jennifer (Bubby) Kerrick; and nephew, Daniel (Liz) Pierson.
Shirley is predeceased by her husband, Kevin Taylor; brother, Doug Pierson; nephew, Marty Pierson; sister-in- law, Katherine Bowker; and brother-in- law R. James Taylor. Shirley is forever loved.
