Penn Yan- Shirley L. Hurlburt, age 81, died September 5, 2019.
Friends may call Tuesday (Sept. 10th) from 2-4 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham, NY. A Memorial Service will follow at 4 p.m.

Shirley was born on September 22, 1937 in East Potter, NY. She was the daughter of the late Clarence Parsons and Maude Baker Parsons. Shirley was a graduate of the Nunda Central School District. Shirley married her husband, Donald L. Hurlburt, Sr., on November 27, 1958 at the Rushville United Methodist Church. She was a Teachers’ Aide at W-FL BOCES in Rushville, NY, for 15 years, before retiring.
Shirley was an avid reader and animal lover. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 60 years, Donald L. Hurlburt, Sr.; son, Donald L. (Beth) Hurlburt, Jr.; two daughters, Debbra (Michael) Plowe and Dianna (James) Mullins; five grandchildren, David (Katie) Hurlburt, Christopher (Ali) Hurlburt, Hanna Jo (River Jones) Hurlburt, Tara (Dan) Siracusa and Tanya (Ed) Kinney; brother-in-law, Earl Hurlburt; sister-in-law, Carol Rogers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
