Obituary
Gorham- Shirley A. Hunt, age 86, passed away Thursday, Nov. 22, 2018.
Friends may call Wednesday (Nov. 28th) from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday (Nov. 29th) at 10 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 18 Snell Rd., Geneva, NY. Burial will be in Little Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Gorham Free Library, P.O. Box 211, Gorham, NY 14461; or the charity of the donor’s choice.
Shirley was born on March 24, 1932 in Geneva, NY. She was the daughter of the late John S. and Mabel P. Goodall. Shirley married Robert L. Hunt on August 26, 1961.
Shirley had worked at Shuron Optical. She worked at the Marcus Whitman High School cafeteria for 20 years. After retiring, she kept busy in her gardens.
Shirley was a life-long member of Zion Lutheran Church. She was active in its Dorcas Society and Alter Guild. Shirley was a member of the Rushville Lions Club, and had received its Lion of the Year Award. She also worked on the Gorham Pageant of Bands for 42 years.
Shirley is survived by three sons, Dennis (Lisa) Hunt of Springfield, VA, Alan (Mary Ellen) Hunt of Ellicott City, MD and Jeffrey (Gale) Hunt of Stanley, NY; seven grandchildren, Tina Hunt, Matthew (Katelyn) Hunt, Sean (Laura) Arliss, Jessica Hunt, Jennifer Hunt, Ashley Hunt and Zachary (Mandy Strally) Hunt; four great-grandchildren, Zachary J. Hunt, George Arliss, Riley Hunt and Jackson Hunt; God-child, Ruth (Michael) Dalgetty; two sisters-in-law, Louise Goodall and Betty Hunt; one brother-in-law, Donald (Bonnie) Hunt; and two nieces and one nephew.
Shirley was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Robert; her parents; and her brother, Robert J. Goodall.
