Gorham- Sharon L. Thorpe, age 79, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, March 8, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

Sherry was born on November 1, 1944, a daughter of the late Raymond and Dorothy Neufang. She was a graduate of Gorham Central School, and afterward was employed for several years by Fleet/Norstar Bank. She and her husband, Fred, were married on August 22, 1964 before welcoming a daughter, Christine, in August 1965 and son, Craig, in January 1970.

Her family was her greatest joy, and through the years, she and her loving husband enjoyed many family vacations, attended countless sporting events and school activities, graduations, and milestones, always her children and grandchildren’s biggest fan. For the remainder of her years, she cherished her family more than anything and was always their greatest supporter.

Sherry is survived by one daughter, Christine (Paul) Chapman; one son, Craig (Jolene) Thorpe; and 4 grandchildren, Adam (Rachel) Chapman, Jenna (Matthew) Turetsky, Jack Thorpe, and Annabelle Weston.

She is also survived by brother, Richard (Carol) Neufang; and sister, Connie (Dean) Burden; 2 sisters-in-law, Janice (Paul) Smith and June (Earl) Pettit; brother-in-law, Roger Thorpe; as well as nieces and nephews.

Sherry was predeceased on March 25, 2023 by her husband of 58 years, Frederick B. Thorpe.

A Private Burial will be held at Gorham Cemetery.
