Obituary
Geneva- Russell Paul Meyer, age 70, died September 1, 2020 at Rochester General Hospital.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Oaklawn Cemetery, Town Phelps. Following the service, family and friends are welcome to join Russ’s family at the Hall Fire Department.
In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Hall Fire Company, P.O. Box 8, Hall, NY 14463 or to the North Seneca Ambulance, 1645 North Rd., Waterloo, NY 13165.
Russell was born on July 11, 1950, to the late Paul P. and Nancy J. Bardeen Meyer. He was a school bus driver for Marcus Whitman School District for several years where he participated in the Eco-Program and drove bus for many Marcus Whitman sports trips.
Russell was an avid sports fan. He organized several trips to Yankee Stadium. Russell was also a member of the men’s Quoit League in Waterloo for several years.
Russell is survived by his daughter, Amanda (Carl) Lester; 3 sons, Thomas (Carlie) Meyer, Matthew Meyer and Jared Meyer; 5 grandchildren, Justin, Garett and Holden Lester and Lucy and Grayson Meyer; 2 sisters, Jane Chapman and Elizabeth (Daniel) Pierson; a brother, Martin (Mary) Meyer; good friends, Doug Cripps and Michelle Kaufman as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Russell was predeceased by his parents, and his brother Tom Meyer.
