Phelps- Russell Robert “Butch” Aliff, age 57, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2019 in Strong Memorial Hospital, after a long illness.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Patient Special Needs Fund, Wilmot Cancer Center, 601 Elmwood Ave., Rochester, NY 14642.
“Butch” was born April 22, 1962 in Canandaigua, NY, to Russell Charles Aliff and Phyllis Wilson Aliff. He grew up in the Bristol area and attended Bloomfield Central School. Butch worked as a self-employed roofer and handyman.
Butch loved animals and nature. He was an avid fisherman, but not a hunter. He decorated his apartment with wildlife pictures and items. His motto was, “I’m just a good ole country boy.”
Butch is survived by two sons, Russell Jesse Aliff and Jamey Wiggins; two grandchildren, Isabella Aliff and Destinee Aliff; his mother, Phyllis Proctor; 7 siblings, Cindy (Gerry) Lanning, Martha (Bruce) Campbell, Robert Proctor, Jr., Terri (Richard) Smith, Gary Proctor, Jerry (Kelli) Proctor and Patty Proctor; many nieces and nephews; and good friend, Dean Gregoire.
Butch was predeceased by his father Russell Charles Aliff; and his step-father, Robert Proctor.
