Obituary

Hall- Robert E. Chapin, 79, passed into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015.

Friends may call Friday (Oct. 2nd) from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday (Oct. 3rd) at 11 a.m. at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Penn Yan. Burial will be in Little Church Cemetery, with Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Golisano Children’s Hospital, 150 Crittenden Blvd., Rochester, NY 14642; or to the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 332 Main St., Penn Yan, NY 14527.

Bob was the son of the late Everett and Daphne Sloan Chapin. He served in the U.S. Army. Bob was retired from Agway in Geneva, and from Marcus Whitman Central School. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Bob was also a Yankees, Syracuse University and Buffalo Bills fan.

Bob is survived by his wife of 58 years, Charlotte; six children, JoAnne Rosato, Robert M. (Kimberly) Chapin, Ronald A. (Jess) Chapin, Scott (Marcia) Chapin, Diane (Dale) Foster and Rebecca (Mark) Catlin; 26 grandchildren, Melony (Anthony) Trementozzi, Elizabeth Rosato, Jenny (Kyle) Krenzer, Samuel (Ciara) Rosato, Jr., Jesse David Rosato, Valorie Rosato, Catherine Rosato, James Rosato, Aimee Rosato and Sierra Rosato, Kayley (Roy Keppen) Chapin, Joshua Chapin and Jaimie Chapin, Wendy Chapin and Darren Chapin, Sarah (Leon Payne) Chapin, Matthew (Stephanie Corbitt) Chapin and Justin Chapin, Shawn Foster, Rachel Foster and Micaela Foster, Alyssa (Chris Lamphier) Chapin, Hope Brennan, Ethan Catlin, Emily Catlin and Ellie Catlin; 12 great-grandchildren, Giovanni and Vincenzo, Elias, Aiyanna, Onnah, Brendan and Ryley, Carter and Caleb, and Myah, Mason and Killian; two sisters, Shirley (Lawrence) Aldous and Eleanor (Arnold) Cunningham; two brothers, Donald (Deatta) Chapin and Harold Chapin; and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was predeceased by one son-in-law, Samuel Rosato, Sr.; two great-grandsons, Maxwell Bayer and Jaxson Keppen; and one sister, Dorothy Crowe.
