Obituary
MIDDLESEX- Robert (Bob) G. Webster Jr., age 73, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday September 29th, 2018. Bob was a loving husband, father, and friend. Bob held a long career in law enforcement that included 22 years with the Canandaigua City Police Department. He then went on to work as a Thoroughbred Racing Protective agent at the Finger Lakes Race Track for 24 years.
Bob was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He was an active member of the Yates County SCOPE, the NRA, and former member of the Middlesex Conservation Club. Bob was very involved in his community, as a longtime member of the Middlesex United Methodist Church, sat on the Marcus Whitman school board, and was past-president of the Canandaigua Police Benevolent Association.
Bob had a great love of music stemming from his father. He spent many years as a guitar player, having played with the former Mountain Ramblers. He also enjoyed woodworking in his spare time.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Karen Webster; three children, Melissa (Van) Moir, Kimberly (Larry Dunton, Jr.) Webster, and Neal (Kelly) Webster; six grandchildren, Kyle Hacker, Amy (Doug) Templeton, Michaela (Jared Walker) Hacker, Tyler Webster, Emily Hacker, and Jimmy Moir; grandchild of the heart, Austin Liddiard; three sisters, Sandra (Mickey) McMillan, Donna Mangiarelli, and Faye Farinha; two sisters-in-law, Sandra (Ron) Williams, and Janie (Gary) Wald; brother-in-law, Roger (Carol) Mack; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Wednesday, October 3rd, between 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Perkins-Ames Funeral Home in Gorham. A funeral service will be held Thursday, October 4th, at 11:00 a.m. at the Middlesex United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Overackers Cemetery.
