Gorham- Robert “Bob” Dancause, 84, was called home to the Lord on Friday, June 16, 2017.

Friends may call Tuesday (June 20th) from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Stanley on Wednesday (June 21st) at 11:30 a.m.

A private interment will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Rochester.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gorham Fire Company, P.O. Box 174, Gorham, NY 14461; or the Stanley-Hall-Gorham Ambulance squad, P.O. Box 41, Gorham, NY 14461.

Bob was born in the town of Oswegatchie, New York, in 1933, son of Fred and Annie Viola Dancause. He was a farmer and a fertilizer salesman in St. Lawrence county for eleven years. Bob then became a construction contractor and established Dancause and Sons, Inc. in 1968 in Gorham, and Town & Country Heating Supply, Inc. in 1985 in Canandaigua. His was the first HVAC company in the state to introduce Riello burners.

Bob was a Lifetime member of the Gorham Fire Company and served on the Stanley-Hall-Gorham Ambulance squad for 18 years.

Bob loved go-cart racing, fishing, hunting, gardening and Syracuse University basketball. He won multiple awards for his restoration of classic antique boats.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Janell Breckenridge Dancause; eight children, Cecile (Bob) Cody, Lou Ann Wyer, Elaine Hilton, Steve (Gloria) Dancause, Michele Fogarty, Gary (Sue) Dancause, Denise Canfield, and Tess Dancause; 14 grandchildren, Chad (Penny) Curtis, Brett Curtis, Joel Wyer, Jessica (Rustico) Udan, Aaron (Lisa) Hilton, Aimee Brown, Adam Hilton, David Dancause, Kristin Fogarty, Katie Fogarty, Shelbe (Isaac) Kamholtz, Tyler Dancause, Nathan Canfield, Jennifer (Zack) Hamilton; 15 great grandchildren; sister Patricia (Albert) Bromberg; and several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by one sister, Joyce McCaffrey; and two brothers, Ronald and Raymond Dancause.
