Obituary
Penn Yan- Richard I. Yaw, age 85, died Wednesday, September 20, 2017.
Friends may call Sunday, (Oct. 1st) from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. A Memorial Service will follow at 3 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Potter Fire Dept. 1255 Phelps Rd., Middlesex, NY 14507; or to the Middlesex Valley Volunteer Ambulance 817 Rte. 245, Middlesex, NY 14507.
Richard was the son of the late Samuel and Alice Mae Ingoldsby Yaw. Richard graduated from Romulus High School. He was formerly employed at Loblaws, a job that brought him to the Penn Yan area. Richard retired from Eastman Kodak after 31 years of service.
He was a member of the Modern Western Square Dance Club and the Model Railroad Club. Richard was a master gardener and carpenter.
Richard is survived by his wife, Waneta Yaw; his daughter, Kathy (Paul) McMillan; two grandchildren, “Kim” Kimberly (Joey) Leote and “Chris” Christopher (Sierra) McMillan; one great-grandson; Anthony Leote; four step-children, Franklin (Susanne) Hainsworth, Geraldine (Robert) Ruditis, Jack (Violet) Hainsworth and Wilma (Samuel) Adkins; nine step-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his son, Robert L. Yaw in 1975; and his parents.
