Obituary
Hall- Raymond C. Mallaber Sr., age 87, died peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016 at his home.
Friends may call Saturday, (Feb. 20th) from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. A Funeral Service will follow at 11 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sands Cancer Center or the Humane Society of Yates County, 1216 Rte. 14A, Penn Yan, NY 14527.
Ray was the son of the late Carl J. and Kathrine Kuhn Mallaber. He worked over 40 years for Cornell University at the NYS Agricultural Experiment Station. He was a member of the Tabernacle of the Congregation Church and was man of faith and prayer. Ray enjoyed watching sports and for many years of his life he enjoyed bowling, golf, his Labrador dogs and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved his family and cherished his role as Dad and brother and ‘adopted’ many others in his heart over the years.
Ray is survived by five children Raymond C. (Jackie) Mallaber, Jr., Dale (Pam) Mallaber, Daniel Mallaber, Mark (Cathy) Mallaber, and Cheryl (David) Paine; 17 grandchildren Raymond C. Mallaber III, Carrie Mallaber Veatch, Brian (Melisa) Chappell, Mike Chappell, Scott Chappell, Michael (Jill) Mallaber, Matthew (Lorrie) Mallaber, Travis, Kevin, and Kyle Mallaber, Ivana Mallaber, Joseph (Morgan) Mallaber, Ariel (Aaron) Wilson, Daniel, Nathaniel, John and Adam Paine, 13 great-grandchildren; one brother; Carl (Elaine) Mallaber of Rochester, New Hampshire; one brother-in-law, Charles (Judy) Campbell of Binghamton; and several nieces and nephews.
Ray was predeceased by his wife of 53 years Mary Ethel Mallaber in 2005, one sister; Marjorie Gage and one brother; Edwin Mallaber.
