Obituary

Geneva – Phyllis Iversen Cram, 96, a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to everyone that she met, passed away peacefully at her home in the early hours of December 1st, surrounded by members of her family.

Born on July 12th, 1925 Phyllis lived in Gorham until her marriage to husband, Bill Cram. The couple met on a blind date, while Bill was stationed at the former Sampson Air Force Base. Together, they shared a loving marriage for 67 years, four children, seven grandchildren, one great grandson and an amazing life.

The family plans to hold a memorial gathering at their home, 143 Dwyer Drive, Geneva, on Saturday December, 4th, from 3-5 pm for anyone who wishes to pay their respects to the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gorham Methodist Church, PO Box 225, Gorham, NY 14461; or The Ability Partners Foundation (Happiness House) 5415 Co Rd 30, Canandaigua, NY 14424.

Anyone who knew Phyllis would say that she lived every moment to the fullest. Always ready for life’s next adventure, no matter what or where, Phyllis and her husband were fortunate to travel the world together and she willingly shared those memories and photos with her friends and family. Phyllis was a kind and generous woman who would give you the shirt off her back if you asked for it. She loved to support her husband in any way that she could, from answering phones at the office, to delivering cars across the state. An avid driving enthusiast, you could often find her driving around the Finger Lakes or New Smyrna Beach, Florida in her convertible picking up her friends or grandchildren to go shopping, out for ice cream, or just for a drive. Phyllis dedicated her life to spending time with her family and friends. She loved to laugh and was known to always have a Pepsi in her hand. She adored her children and loved being able to help raise all seven of her grandchildren.

Phyllis is survived by her children, William D. Cram, Jr. “BJ” (Sally) Cram, Bradley (Elizabeth Ravlin) Cram, Jill Cram Hessney, and Amy Cram; her grandchildren, Alexander (Catinca Fercu) Cram, Samantha (Craig Nash) Hessney, Benjamin (Allie Harshberger) Hessney, J. Christopher (Briana) Ritter, Timothy Ritter, Rebecca Ritter and Sophie Ritter; and great-grandson, Thomas Steven Nash. She is also survived by her beloved nieces, Ann Iversen and Martha (John Stewart) Iversen; and nephew, Christopher (Susan) Iversen.

Phyllis was predeceased by her husband, Bill Cram; and son-in-law, Steven Hessney.

Phyllis was an incredible and spunky woman and her vibrancy and love for life will be cherished, remembered, and missed by all those that she touched over the years.
