Obituary
Penn Yan-Norma H. Newcomb, age 82, of Penn Yan, passed away at the Penn Yan Homestead, on Sunday, May 28, 2017, after a lengthy illness.
Private funeral services are being provided by the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham, and will be at the convenience of the family.
It is requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 435 E. Henrietta Rd., Rochester, NY 14620; the Benton Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, 932 Rte. 14A, Penn Yan, NY 14527;or to a charity of one’s choice.
Norma served for 30 years in the Penn Yan Central School District’s Food Services Department, where she cashiered for many years. She was a charter member of the Benton Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary, and was a member of the Benton United Methodist Church.
Norma enjoyed her many houseplants and flowers, and loved to bake and care for her family.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, George Newcomb; two sons, Randy (Pamela) Newcomb, and Ross (Martha) Newcomb; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Norma was predeceased by her parents, Berlin and Bessie Hey of Penn Yan.
