Obituary
Rushville- Nicholaus A. Van Amburg, age 40, was born on November 4, 1982 and passed away unexpectedly at home.
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Nick was a loving husband, father, son and brother. He worked for Walmart for 20 years and recently Big Lots in Geneva.
He is survived by his wife, Tanya; son, Gavin; step-daughter, Trinity Rorick; his parents Robert and Kathy Van Amburg of Watkins Glen; his in-law’s, Alan and Karen Reese of Gorham and Ray and Sue Daveport of Stanley; sister, Katie of Florida; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth and Bevin; many aunts and uncles; as well as nieces and nephews.

To Nick’s family. I am an employee of Big Lots. Myself and my co workers are heartbroken with his unexpected passing. It was devastating to hear when we got to work on Monday. Nick was a Loving and Caring Son, Brother and Father. He taught his son, Gavin. Gavin was learning words Love, Honest and Responsibility.
Gavin is a Loving Grandson because of Nick. Nick and Gavin were Very close. Gavin’s Heart has a Huge Hole.
We pray for Gavin each day.. Nick is also survived by his Uncle. Michael VanAmburg lives in Watkins Glen.

Going to miss Nick, Always Enjoyed seeing him walk in my door. Nick was an auto enthusiast to say the least. He came to me looking to improve the looks of his truck, He had a vision and we were able to make it happen for him. He came in all the time even when he didn't need anything. He quickly became a staple to the shop and was always welcome. He became more than a customer. He was a friend!! Someone to talk shop with. Life with and anything in between. We had some good laughs and I'll never forget him. That's for sure. My sincerest condolences to the family. Rest in peace Nick.

I did not personally know Nick,but I know his parents. They were always there for Nick and Gavin. My heart goes out to the family. The parents would tell me all about what they did on the weekends that involved Nick and Gavin. They expressed a lot of love and attention was given to Nick and Gavin.
