Obituary
Potter/Rushville/Penn Yan – Michael Ryan Catlin, age 32, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, May 22, 2021.
Friends may call on Saturday (May 29th) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 5 Warehouse St., Rushville, NY. A Memorial Service will follow at 2 p.m.

Michael was born July 26, 1988 in Geneva, NY to Philip L. Catlin and Heidi Snyder Catlin. He graduated from Marcus Whitman Central School in 2006, and attended Finger Lakes Community College. He worked all over the U.S. in Telecommunications.
Michael enjoyed hiking, playing volleyball with friends and family, and loved being on the beach, shades on and cocktail in hand.
Michael was a light to everyone around him; he cared more for others than for himself. He had contagious optimism; a day seeing Michael was a day brightened. His gentle smile warmed your heart. Most people would say that Michael could sell anything; his charisma was dynamic. He genuinely saw people and did not let fear or awkwardness stop him from chatting with anyone. He could make friends anywhere he went. He fought with strength and a pure heart. May his life be a testament to hold your loved ones close, to not wait until tomorrow to tell someone you love them and that they matter, and to courageously love others.
Michael is survived by his parents, Phil and Heidi Catlin; one sister, Brittany Catlin; one brother, Casey (Danielle) Catlin; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Michael was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, James and Joan Snyder, and his paternal grandparents, Wilbur and Mildred Catlin.
