Obituary
Stanley- Michael L. Allen, 65, died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017 at Geneva General Hospital after a long illness.
Friends may call Wednesday (Nov. 1st) from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Stanley Fire Hall, 2040 Rte. 245, Stanley, NY. A Memorial Service will follow at 6 p.m. at the Fire Hall.
Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Penn Yan, at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be send to a charity that Mike supported, Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675; or to the Stanley Fire Company, P.O. Box 481, Stanley, NY 14561, where Mike had been a life-time member and former Fire Chief.
Mike was born in Penn Yan and was the son of the late Arthur and Betty Allen. He graduated from Marcus Whitman High School in 1970 and from C.C.F.L with an Associates Degree. Mike was a member of Ducks Unlimited.
Mike worked was a Wildlife Tech for the NYS DEC. He and Pete Nye worked together on the Eagle Project, which brought the Bald Eagle back to New York State. If you are lucky enough to see a Bald Eagle in New York, think of Mike.
Mike is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sharon Allen; two sons, Aaron (Coco) Allen of Corbin, KY and Matthew (Sara Bills) Allen of Macedon, NY; two grandchildren, Kaila Marie Allen and Noah Michael Allen; sister, Jana Reavis; nephew, Charles (Stacy) Reavis; “brother”, Tom (Ann) Dublin; several brothers and sisters-in-law; and many friends. Mike was a loving father and grandfather.
