Obituary
Stanley- Mary K. Butler, age 95, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017.
Friends may call Friday (July 7th) from 12 Noon to 1 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Friday (July 7th) at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Stanley. Burial will follow in St. Theresa’s Cemetery.
Mary was born February 11, 1922, in Caldwell, New Jersey. She was the daughter of the late Simon Klar and Frances Abelshauser Klar. Mary served during World War II with the U.S. Coast Guard, from 1942 to 1945.
She worked in the Ontario County Clerk’s Office for 25 years. Mary was a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church.
Mary is survived by four children, Rosemary Butler-Torres, Carol Ann (Russell) Mayhew, Timothy E. Butler and Michael J. (Alicia) Butler; two grandchildren, Ian (Julie) Mayhew and Allison Mayhew; and three great-grandchildren, Samuel Joseph Mayhew, Sophie Frances Mayhew and Piper Mayhew.
Mary was predeceased by husband William E. Butler; two sisters, Sister Frances Joseph Klar and Ann Feldman; and five brothers, Joseph, George, Martin, Simon and John Klar.
