Obituary
Gorham-Margaret S. Gage, age 91, died Tuesday, March 27, 2018.
Friends may call Saturday (March 31st) from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in Gorham Cemetery. Everyone is cordially invited to a reception at the Canandaigua American Legion, starting at 1 p.m.

Margaret was a graduate of Middlesex Valley Central School and Rochester Business Institute. She worked in the Gorham Central School Guidance Office for several years; and then with the Ontario County Department of Social Services for 20 years. Margaret then received her Nursing Degree from Finger Lakes Community Hospital, and worked at the V.A. Medical Center in Canandaigua for 5 years. After retirement she did private duty nursing. Margaret was a life-long member of the Bethel Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, painting and calligraphy. Margaret was devoted to her family.
Margaret’s family wishes to thank the staff on 3rd Floor at the Clifton Springs Nursing Home for their loving care of Margaret.
She is survived by six children, Sheila (Ralph) West, Nancy (Ron) Evans, Judy (Daniel) Bergstresser, Brent Gage, Brenda (Zachary) Goldstein and Candace Gage; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Willis L. Gage in 2003; her son, Ronald Gage; one granddaughter, Haley Blue Goldstein; one great-granddaughter, Madison Danielle Davis; her parents, Regnar and Nellie (Rice) Simonsen; three sisters, Anna Weatherbee, Irene Babcock and Gertrude Gage; two brothers, Chester Simonsen and Earl “Hank” Simonsen.
