Obituary
Seneca Castle- Linda E. Smith, age 71, passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 18, 2020.
The family will be present to receive friends on Monday (Dec. 28th) from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. Funeral services will be private. A public Committal Service will be held on Tuesday (Dec 29th) at 11:30 a.m. at Whitney Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Linda’s name can be made to Seneca Castle Fire Dept., P.O. Box 59, Seneca Castle, NY 14547; or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Linda was born in Oneonta, NY on March 31, 1949, to the late Guy Emerson and Elizabeth Eileen (Bronner) Wood. Linda was the office manager for Cornell Pest Management at the NYS Agricultural Experiment Station in Geneva. In 1991 she opened and ran Crystal Clear Pool and Spa in Flint, until her open-heart surgery in 2007. In 2018. Linda entered the Huntington Living Center, Special Needs Unit in Waterloo.
Linda is survived by her husband, Charles “Bud” Smith; her four children, Michelle (Marek) Mahonski, Ryan (Ellen) Smith, Chris (Jill) Smith and Craig (Vicki) Smith; 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; her brother, Garry (Peggy) Wood; her best friends, Joyce, Donna and Peggy; a close family friend, Kathy Dilmore; as well as several nieces and nephews.
