Obituary

Potter- Kenneth R. Thompson, 82, died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017.

Friends may call Friday (Nov. 17th) from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. A Memorial Service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rushville Cemetery, with military honors.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.

Mr. Thompson was born Nov. 5, 1935 in Macedon, NY; raised in Farmington, NY; enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in February 1953 and discharged as Corporal in February 1956. Mr. Thompson was a self-employed tractor trailer operator, leased first to RFC Transport, STL Transport and spent his last 27 years before retirement leased with Concrete Delivery in Rochester, NY. He owned and operated Thompson Trucking.

Mr. Thompson played guitar and sang country music. He also enjoyed hunting, stock car racing and vintage automobiles.

He is survived by his daughter and three sons, Cynthia L. (Don) Carbone, Daniel R. Thompson, Steven J. (Patty) Thompson and Kenneth Randall (Margaret) Thompson; four grandchildren, Naomi (AJ) Hanna, Todd Thompson, Michelle Carbone, and Zachary Carbone; one brother, Robert C. Thompson of Santa Monica, CA; one sister, Connie Reed of Rushville, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Roger and Gladys Smith Thompson; and brother, Richard Thompson.
