Obituary

Canandaigua– Kenneth J. Bell, age 79, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at F.F. Thompson Hospital.

Friends may call Wednesday (April 12th) from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home, 2583 E. Main St., Gorham, NY.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday (April 13th) at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rushville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or Light Hill Hospice Home, 5160 Parrish St. Extension, Canandaigua, NY 14424.

Ken was born June 2, 1943 to the late Walter and Ruth Bell. He graduated from Canandaigua  Academy in 1962. Ken worked as a Machinist at Gleason Works in Rochester for 40 years, until his retirement in 2005. He was a member of the Canandaigua Masonic Lodge #0294.

Ken loved spending time with his family, helping his neighbors and working in his garden.

Ken is survived by his wife of 57 years, Regina; son, Michael Bell; daughter, Jackie (Daniel) Pilat; beloved grandson, Jacob Pilat; brother, Edward (Donna) Bell; brother-in-law, Edson Bellis; and several nieces and nephews.

Ken was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Walter Bell, Jr. and Robert Bell; and his sisters, Marion Harris and Ruth Bellis.

I Share Many Many Memories as Neighbors and Cherrish every one of them through the years. Mr. Bell put up with me many times when I saw him in my younger years working in his Garage. or outside, I would run over to talk to Him and Mom always knew where I was. He was Always Very Kind, and I am Honored to have known Mr. Bell most of My Life. I was glad I got to see Him when I went to Mom's house the last time I was there and got to visit with him. Words can Not express How Our Neighborhood Lost such an AWESOME Neighbor for all He did for Our Family and Others. Regina, my friend, I can't tell you how sorry I was to hear about the loss of Ken. I will always remember our Wednesday lunches at the Creamery for our Beef on Weck and his chicken salad and chips!!!! I could always count on Ken to make me smile and laugh every time we met.
