John Michael McBride

Stanley/ Bluffton, SC- John Michael McBride, 81, passed away on January 21, 2017 at the Hilton Head Hospital, Hilton Head, SC.
Calling hours will be at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham on Friday (April 28th) from 2 to 4 p.m.
On April 29th there will be a Funeral Mass at 1 p.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Oneonta, NY. The burial will follow at the Ouleout Valley Cemetery, Franklin, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.
John was born in New York City on August 18, 1935 to the late Charles T. McBride and Mary G. Butler McBride. He worked for the Ontario County Highway Department as a Civil Engineer, and had graduated from Delhi Technical College, Delhi, NY, in 1963. John served 9 years in the National Guard of Walton, NY.
John’s favorite pass-time was flying his plane off his field. He was also a member of the Penn Yan Flying Club.
John is survived by his wife, Catherine S. McBride of Stanley, NY and Bluffton, SC. John has two daughters, Nancy M. (Bruce) Alexander of High Point, NC, and Dianne M. (Joel) Boss of Lake Orion, Michigan. He has a brother, Charles T. McBride of Kingston, NY; five sisters, Helen Sacco of Hudson, NY, Susan Salem of Poughkeepsie, NY, Marjorie (Walter) Harrington of Summerton, SC, Barbara (Arthur) Ward of Youngstown, NY, and Katherine (David) Maggiore of Poughkeepsie, NY. John has four grandchildren, Stephanie (John) Bunting of Appleton, WI, Michael (Amber) Smith of Anderson, SC, Jonathan Boss and Elizabeth Boss, both of Lake Orion, Michigan; and two great-grandchildren, Jack Bunting of Appleton, WI, and Sterling Smith of Anderson, SC.
