Obituary
Waterloo/Rushville- John L. Crooks, 81, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017.
Friends may call Saturday (Sept. 2nd) from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. A Funeral Service will be Sunday (Sept. 3rd) at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rushville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gorham Fire Company, 4676 Kearney Rd., Stanley, NY 14561.
John was the son of the late Orra and Clarabelle Crooks. He was retired from GM-Delco in Rochester. John enjoyed the outdoors. He fished, hunted, and camped. John was the former President of the Savona Rod and Gun Club. He also enjoyed traveling. John loved Bluegrass music and was looking forward to the Pickin’ in the Pasture Bluegrass Festival in Lodi.
John is survived by four children, Peter (Janet) Crooks, Donna (Kenneth) Boyd, Terry (Deanna) Crooks and Lisa (Brian) Tomion; two step-children, Donna May MacDougall and Charles (Melodie) Murphy; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Esther Wheaton; and one sister-in-law, Sally Arnold.
John was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Crooks; his daughter, Christine Ford; and his brother-in-law, Ralph Arnold; one sister; and several brothers.
