Joan Lucille Brooks

Geneva/Gorham- Joan Lucille Brooks, age 82, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022.

Friends may call on Sunday (Dec. 18) from 4 – 6 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. A funeral service will be held on Monday (Dec. 19) at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Gorham Cemetery.

Joan was born on November 7, 1940, a daughter of the late William and Florence Countryman Murphy. Joan was a waitress for a number of years in the Gorham and Geneva area, including at the Pumpernickel Restaurant in Geneva. Joan loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and baking. Joan and her husband Will could often be found at Turning Stone Casino.

Joan is survived by 6 children, David (Lisa) Goodrich of Battleground, Washington, Rodney Goodrich of Watervliet, Michigan, Diane (Mike) Tyrrell of Schroon Lake, NY, Janet (Denise Wallace) Shaffer of Rockdale, Texas, Pam Juhasz of Palmyra, NY and Roxanne (David) Campbell of Vine Valley, NY; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her best friend and sister at heart, Gail Warminsky; sister-in-law, Sandy Murphy; brother-in-law, Rodney Goodman as well as many nieces nephews and cousins.

Joan was predeceased by her parents; her husband Willard Brooks, Sr. of Gorham and four siblings, Joyce (Willis) Frankenfield, Jean (Mike) Barry, Janet Goodman and Edward Murphy.
