Obituary

Rushville- Janet May Landcastle, age 86, passed away at her home on Wednesday, November 2, 2022.

Friend may call Friday (Nov. 11th) from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday (Nov. 12th) at 11 a.m.

at the First Congregational Church in Rushville, NY. Burial will be in Rushville Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church, PO Box 612, Rushville, NY 14544; or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 435 East Henrietta Rd., Rochester, NY 14620.

Janet was born June 7, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Howard Gorton and Genevieve Runt Gorton. Janet was a 1953 graduate of  Middlesex Valley Central School. She received an Bachelors Degree at the age of 42. Janet was a Social Worker at the Seneca Nursing Home until her retirement.

Janet was a member of the Tuesday Club and the Rushville History Room. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church in Rushville.  Janet was a gifted musician, who played the organ at the Church for 50 years. She enjoyed her family and loved to cook for them.

Janet is survived by her husband of 68 years, Jamie “Jim” Landcastle, Jr.; five children, Pamela Landcastle, Yvonne (Mike) Nolan, Jackie (Gene) Allaire, Terry (Karen) Landcastle and Jamie Landcastle III; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren; brother, David (Nancy) Gorton; sister-in-law, Patricia Peta; brother-in-law, Rodney Landcastle; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Janet was predeceased by infant son, Gary Landcastle; sister, Patricia Lane; and brother-in-law, Richard Landcastle.
