Janet Lazarus

Rushville – Janet M. Lazarus, age 81, died Thursday, January 27, 2022 at The Homestead Nursing Home in Penn Yan.

Friends may call Saturday (Feb. 12^th) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. A Funeral Service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rushville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rushville Hose Company, P.O. Box 51, Rushville, NY 14544; or to the Middlesex Valley Volunteer Ambulance, 817 Rte. 245, Middlesex, NY 14507.

Janet was born April 28, 1940 in Canandaigua, NY. She was the daughter of the late Roy and June Owen. Janet attended Middlesex Valley Central School.

Janet married Charles E. Lazarus on Feb. 25, 1957. She was a full-time homemaker. Janet enjoyed baking, sewing and scrap-booking. She loved traveling to visit family. In later years she enjoyed K-Ventures bus trips. Janet was a member of the Rushville Hose Auxiliary. She adored her family. Janet’s whole life was devoted to her family.

Janet is survived by three daughters, Karen Pulver, Dianne Lazarus and Kathy (Bob) Gernaat; three sons, Charles A. Lazarus, Michael (Marsha) Lazarus and Randy Lazarus; 14 grandchildren, Sarah Lazarus, Gwen (Darrell) Winkler, Justin (Chand) Kataria, Laura Lazarus, Lydia (Gene) Melendez, Jessica Pulver, Hannah Blauvelt, Jewel Pulver, Diamond Pulver, Chad (Robin) Lazarus, Cody Lazarus, Rhiannon (Darren) Sage, Matthew (Meg) Gernaat and Kendra (Mitchell) Patterson; 23 great-grandchildren, Camden and Cullen, Carter and Anna, Emily, Riley and Molly, Ariana, Allie and Anthony, Zoey, Zachary, Zane and  Zander, Shelby and Shayne, Gavin, Ella and Natalie, Giana and Doutzen, and Beckham and Baylor; sister, Martha Owen; brothers, Allen Owen and Elwood (Pat) Owen; brothers-in-law, Fred Estey and Gerald (Mary) Lazarus; and many nieces and nephews.

Janet was predeceased by her husband, Charles E. Lazarus; parents; brother, Morris Owen; and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Owen and Helen Estey.
