Obituary

Geneva – James Thomas Davis, age 76, of Geneva, New York, passed away after a long battle with cancer and diabetes.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Crosswinds Church, 3360 Middle Cheshire Rd, Canandaigua, NY 14424, with reception immediately following.

Memorial contributions: Family Life Ministries, P.O. Box 506, Bath, NY 14810.

Jim was born on June 9, 1946 – the first of six children to Luella and Fenton Davis, farmers in Nelson, NY. Jim attended SUNY Morrisville majoring in Agricultural Science. Soon after graduation, he married his sweetheart from 4-H club, Betty Barrett, on June 21, 1969. Jim was part of the agricultural industry his entire career, first in seed sales, then running his own farm, as a hired hand, and finally as a milk inspector. He was an active member of his church, serving as deacon, usher, and greeter throughout the years. After years of moving from place to place, Jim and Betty finally bought their cottage in Geneva in 2004, where he enjoyed giving grandkids 4-wheeler rides, making pancakes, and taking trips to Camp.

Jim is survived by three sons, Scott (Kim) Davis, Chris (Nina) Davis and    Jeff (Bridget) Davis; one daughter, Heather (Ben) Oxenford; ten grandchildren, Sydney, Cameron, Samuel, Joseph, Kendall, Aaron, Nathan, Eliana, Grace, and Hannah; and four siblings, Jeanne, Judy, Jerry, and Patty.

He is predeceased in death by his wife, Betty, in 2022; brother, Michael, earlier this year; granddaughter, Madison in 1999; and his parents, Fenton (1995) and Luella (2017) Davis.

But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.  -Isaiah 40:31

Dear Ones.... So sad to read this news. Another wonderful, kind, loving Davis gone to live with Jesus. Our consolation is that he is in his forever home with Betty. Love to you all. We're praying for you, for sure. Hugs, Val & Bob

We are so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I served many years on the Church Board with him in Clifton Springs. It was always such a blessing.
