Geneva- James P.W. Keeley III, age 74, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2017, at Strong Memorial Hospital with his family by his side, after a brief illness.

There will be no calling hours. There will be a celebration of his life this spring at the Whitney Cemetery in Seneca Castle, NY, at the convenience of the family.

James was born December 4, 1942 in Newark, New Jersey. He was the son of James P. W. Keeley, Jr. and Elizabeth J. Keeley. Jim was a 1960 graduate of Geneva High School and attended the State University of N.Y. at New Paltz, where he majored in Art. He worked as a machinist at Xerox in Webster, NY, until he retired in 2003. Jim was an artist, lover of music, a Jack-of-all trades and a voracious reader. He was an avid bird watcher, gardener and fisherman. Jim enjoyed spending time at his favorite place, Seneca Lake, where he grew up on Clark’s Point. One of Jim’s greatest joys in life was spending time with his grandchildren. He and his wife, Roberta, would have been married 50 years on April 15, 2017.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Roberta Keeley (Driscoll), of Geneva; his son, Jason D. Keeley, and daughter-in- law Fatima Keeley, of Shortsville, NY; his daughter, Erin E. Keeley (James Hayes) of Geneva, NY; two sisters, Patricia McDermott of Seneca Falls and Maryanne McConkey (Bill) of Red Creek, NY; one brother, Michael Keeley (Karen) of Lyons, NY; sister –in-law and brother-in-law, Patricia and Gerry deWit of Cayuga,NY.; two grandsons, Jacob J. Keeley and Charlie J. Hayes and one granddaughter, Grace J. Keeley; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Jim is predeceased by his father, James P.W. Keeley Jr. and his mother, Elizabeth J. Keeley (Hoose).
