Canandaigua/Italy Valley- James H. “Bud” Hilton, Sr., 97, of Chosen Spot Apartments, died Friday, Sept. 2, 2016 at The Homestead in Penn Yan.
Burial in Italy Valley Cemetery will be private. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Jim was the son of the late Otto Glenn Hilton and Maude Spong Hilton. He attended Middlesex High School. Jim was retired from Rytown Millwork in Manchester, NY. He was a long-time member of the Potter Baptist Church.
Jim enjoyed woodworking. He was all about family, and enjoyed building things for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In later years, he began drawing and painting.
Jim is survived by two sons, James (Elaine) Hilton, Jr. and Gary (Donna) Hilton; 10 grandchildren, Jeremy (Clare Hanson) Hilton, Jason (Jennifer) Hilton, Alicia (Scott) Carlson, Lorraine (Brian) Thomas, Susan (J.T. Perry) Rose, Sara (Ben Cushwa) Rose, Natasha (Charles) Cotter, Chelsea (Zak) Keller, Braden Hilton and Cade Hilton; 9 great-grandchildren, Christian Hilton, Natalie Hilton and Megan Hilton, Alex (Amy) Thomas, Amanda Thomas, Gage Perry, Anna Cotter, Amelia Keller and Cassidy Keller; two sisters-in-law, Gloria Herrick and Mary Kay Gage; and two brothers-in-law, Merrill (Dianne) Herrick and Gerald (Vada) Gage.
Jim was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy in 2011; his daughter, Cathy Rose in 2016; and his six siblings, Howard Hilton, Remer Hilton, June Nieves, Willis Hilton, Kyle Hilton and Kermit Hilton.
