Obituary
On Sunday, April 19, 2020, James A. Moore, 68, of Hopewell, NY, went home to his Heavenly Father.
He was a gentle, kind, adventurous man of God with a contagious laugh and easy-going manner. Jim was unwavering in his faith, but always pursued a deeper understanding of God. He loved his family and friends well, leading them by quiet example and humor.
Jim was a creative and talented problem solver, able to make and fix anything. As a general contractor, he worked on many homes locally and in other states. He made many trips overseas to share Jesus’ love and bring practical, hands-on help to communities in need.
Jim had many interests. From his early days racing motocross, parachuting, or flying his single-prop, to his life-long love of woodworking, photography, hiking, hunting, fishing, and playing video games or cribbage with his family, Jim was always ready for fun and adventure – especially if it included unusual cuisine.
He is greatly missed by his wife, Sylvia; his sons, Josiah, Jordan (Julia), Nathaniel, Jonathan (Savannah) and “bonus son” Jonathan Sullivan; his mother, June; his brother, Dennis (Jan); sisters, Mary Louise (Ed) Freda, Nancy (Dan) Richter; granddaughter, Evangeline; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his father, Reverend Jack Moore.
At a later time, the family will be holding a celebration of Jim’s life.
If you wish, you may send a donation in Jim’s memory to GO International (https://www.gointernational.org/) or the charity of your choice.
