Penn Yan- D. Irene Nielsen Strosnider, 91, died July 5, 2016 at The Homestead in Penn Yan.
A Memorial Services will be held Saturday (July 30th) at 2 p.m. at the Union Congregational United Church of Christ in Hall, NY. Burial in Lakeview Cemetery, Penn Yan will be private.

Irene was born April 26, 1925, in Ferguson Corners, NY. She was the daughter of the late Peter Jensen and Clara F. Jensen. She was employed at Michaels Stern clothing factory at one time. She delivered Meals on Wheels for 9 years in Penn Yan, was a member of Union Congregational Church of Hall, NY. She was a friend and housewife all her life.
Irene was predeceased by her first husband, Willard Nielsen, who died Dec. 24, 1952. In March 1973, she was married to Robert “Bob” E. Strosnider, originally of Blacksville, WV, but for twenty years a resident of Hall, NY. He predeceased her on Oct. 24, 2011. She was also predeceased by her brother, George Jensen, in 2004; and her sister-in-law, Jane Jensen, in 2016.
Irene is survived by her three children, Bill Nielsen and wife, Pat, of Prattsburgh, NY, Linda Nielsen and partner, James Steves, of Baldwinsville, NY, and Kenneth Nielsen and wife, Mary, of White Cloud, MI; her five step-children. R. Gerald Strosnider and wife, Margie, of Newfield, NY, Mrs. Sandy Aziz and husband, Jerry, of Toronto, Canada, Stephen Strosnider and wife, Patty, of Bridgeton, NJ, Craig Strosnider and wife, Nancy, of Henderson, KY, and Patricia Strosnider Moore and partner, Stepheny Moore, of Penn Yan, NY; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Smithover, of Clifton Springs, NY; and several cousins.
