Obituary
Geneva – Harlan W. Olsen, age 85, peacefully passed away at home with his family on Saturday, December 26, 2020.
A private burial service will be in Brookside Cemetery. A public memorial service will be held at the cemetery on May 15, 2021 at 2:00 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hall Fire Company, PO Box 8, Hall, NY 14463 or to the Ontario-Yates Hospice.
Harlan was born May 14, 1935, son of Harold and Doris (Jorgensen) Olsen. He graduated from Geneva High School and Alfred Tech.
Harlan owned and operated, along with his father and brother, O-Acres Farm on Lake to Lake Road. He was a member of the Hall Fire Company for over 45 years. He was also a member of the Shortsville Rod and Gun club. He was an avid bowler, horseshoe pitcher, and card player. He enjoyed spending winters in Florida at his second home.
Harlan is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nancy; son Bradley Olsen; daughter Deborah Olsen; granddaughter Emily (Stephen) Nemeth; sister Bette Ann Moses; and sister-in-law Bettie Jeanne Olsen; and several nieces and nephews. He was close to Allison and Ashley Danielak and thought of them as additional granddaughters.
Harlan was predeceased by his brother, Dayton Olsen, and brother-in-law, Nicholas Moses.
