Obituary
Gladys Elizabeth Mallaber Gage passed away on February 9, 2022. Services will be private, and Mrs. Gage will be interred at Rushville Cemetery, Rushville, New York.
Gage was born on April 26, 1924, in Rochester, New York. She worked for the Hickock Manufacturing Company, and later, The Todd Company in Rochester during WWII.
Gladys was married to Floyd Higley Gage on August 20, 1949. They met at a dance in 1948 and were lifelong dancers. Gladys and Floyd loved to travel and enjoyed the beaches of Florida. They were married almost 72 years.
Mrs. Gage was an accomplished pianist, who played for Sunday School at Church, and for family enjoyment. She was a loving wife and mother, helped to raise four children, and also assisted her husband Floyd with farming and chores. Gage also worked at Gorham Central School. She loved to bake, and the extended family enjoyed her apple pies, chocolate cookies, and chocolate cakes.
The Gages moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in 1968. Gladys was employed doing secretarial work for Buy Lines Press, a classified publication.
Gladys is survived by Alan Floyd Gage (Sandra Seely Gage), Joan Ellen Gage, Karen Gage Arango (Oscar Arango); grandchildren, Justin Alan Gage (Alana Valseca Gage), Thomas Seely Gage (Christy Guthrie Gage), Elyssa Joy Gage (Brian Jeffrey Hamm), Leah Bethany Gage; great-grandchildren, Gianni Justin Gage, Mila Louise Gage, Remy Theodore Gage, Martin Nicolas Hamm, Damien Michael Hamm and Cecilia Marie Hamm, and other family and friends. She is preceded in death by Floyd Higley Gage, Kathleen Anne Gage, Earl Decker Mallaber, Elizabeth Jane Mallaber, Robert McGill Mallaber, Gertrude Mallaber Dickenson, Sally Jane Mallaber, Shirley Goodwin Mallaber, and Gary Edward Mallaber.
