Obituary
Seneca Castle- Gilbert F. “Gib” Melious, age 88, passed away on Tuesday. Sept. 25, 2018.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday (Sept. 30th) at 1:30 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. Burial will be in Gorham Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Clifton Springs Nursing Home Rehabilitation Fund, 2 Coulter Rd., Clifton Springs, NY 14432.
Gib was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and baseball and was a Yankees fan. Gib was a former member of the Gorham Fire Dept. and the Gorham Rotary Club. He was also a member of the Seneca Castle Fire Company and the Phelps Masonic Lodge #200. Gib retired from H.M. Cross and Sons, Rochester, NY in 1993.
Gib is survived by his daughter, Terry (Tom) Allen of Seneca Castle; two sons, Randy (Devon) Melious of Seneca Castle and Kyle E. Melious of Naples; one sister, Mona M. Rupert of NJ; four grandchildren, Ty (Kellie) Allen of Phelps, Jared (Tonya) Allen of Hopewell, Cory D. (Simone Gurren) Melious of NYC and Amy (Matt Northrup) Fitzgerald of Clifton Springs; 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Norma Jones.
Gib was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Helen H. Melious on Jan 2. 1996; and by one brother, MGSgt. F.D. Melious, USMC (Ret.).
