Obituary
Geneva/Penn Yan- Frieda S. Cramer, age 96, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 17, 2021 at The Homestead in Penn Yan.
Friends may call Saturday (June 5th) from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. A Memorial Service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Branchport Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Activities Fund of The Homestead, 418 N. Main St., Penn Yan, NY 14527.
Frieda was born in the Town of Potter, Yates County, NY. She was the daughter of the late Oliver and Mary Elizabeth Newby. Frieda was a full-time wife, mother and homemaker. Frieda loved farm life and loved to plow. She was always putting everybody else’s needs before her own.
Frieda is survived by five children, Elwin Tears, Sylvia (Larry) Ansley, Edward Tears, Larry Tears and Gerda (Bill) Smith; 8 step-children, Ron Cramer, Jr., Don (Lorrine) Cramer, Larry Cramer, Bob (Rich Groat) Cramer, Phyllis (Max) Colley, Karen (Jeff) Kennan, Stanley (Shirley) Senack and Patricia (Bruce) Lont; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Wilma Bishop; sister-in-law, Janice Newby; and several nieces and nephews.
Frieda was predeceased by her husbands, Ronald Cramer, Sr. and Charles Senack; sons, Oliver Tears and Leon Tears; sisters, Mildred (Howard) Applebee, Gladys (William) Mickelsen and Norma (Ralph) Snyder; and brother, Donald Newby.
