Obituary

Canandaigua – Emma Fox Page, a life long resident of Ontario County, died on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center. She was 92.

Emma was born to J. Charles and Mary Fox of Rushville, NY on February 13, 1925. She is a graduate of Canandaigua Academy and Rochester Business Institute. On May 6, 1950 Emma and Clair A. Page were married at their home on Yautzy Road. Prior to marriage, Emma was employed by Rushville State Bank. Along with raising a family, Emma helped with chores around the farm, tended a huge garden, then canned and froze the bounty for future use. In later years, Emma worked as the bookkeeper for Welco Ad Corp and Rose City Glass until her retirement in 1991. Upon retirement she enjoyed spending more time with her family, working on embroidery projects, baking, attending Reed Corners Federated Church and Gorham Senior Citizens.

Emma is survived by two daughters; Jeanette Decker (Stephen) of Middlesex and Rita Mark (Daryl “Scott”) of Clifton Springs, daughter-in-law Jeanne Page of Canandaigua, grandchildren; Monica Little (Scott), Benjamin Page (Kim), Mark Kransler (Amrutha Idupunganti), Beth Sabin (Aaron) and great grandsons; Tyler & Evan Little.

She was pre-deceased by her husband Clair, son Charlie of Canandaigua, twin brother Emory Fox of Penn Yan, brother Charles Fox of Cottonwood, AZ, and a great grandson.

A celebration of Emma’s life will be held at Kenneth Perkins Funeral Home, 2583 Main Street, Gorham, NY on Saturday, August 19 at 3:00 with burial immediately following in the Gorham Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Reed Corners Federated Church, 4030 Rt 247 Rushville, NY 14544 or M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center, 350 Parrish St. Canandaigua, NY 14424.

The family would like to thank all the staff of M.M. Ewing CCC, with extra special gratitude to those on Lakeview Avenue, for the wonderful care that was given to Emma.
