Stanley- Elmer “Sonny” Knopf, Jr., age 91, formerly of Goose St. in Stanley, died on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015.
Friends may call Wednesday (Dec. 2nd) from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. A Funeral Service will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be held in Gorham Cemetery, with Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gorham Free Library, Box 211, Gorham, NY 14461.
Elmer was the son of the late Elmer and Dolores Knopf. He served in the US Army during World War II in the Philippines. Elmer was a local farmer and owned the family farm.
Elmer is survived by his four siblings, Eleanor (James) Gould, Marion Cimino, Catherine Joyce and Arthur (Bonnie) Knopf; and one brother-in-law, Charles Plyter. Elmer will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews as a “shenanigator.”
