Elizabeth Peirson Freese

Elizabeth Peirson Freese, born in 1928, was the daughter of Elizabeth Gaston Holt  Peirson and Nathaniel Dunn Peirson. A journalism graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Betty worked as the Women’s Page editor of the Raleigh Times in North Carolina.   Years later, upon completion of her Master of  Library Science Degree at Syracuse University , she worked as the librarian at the Manlius Public Library; and later, at the Marcus Whitman High School.

Betty, along with her husband Howard, also enjoyed operating Lakeview Farm Bed & Breakfast for 14 years and traveling to various European countries, as well as New Zealand and Taiwan. 

Betty was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Canandaigua, The Valley Garden Club, and The Interrogation Club. 

Betty enjoyed gardening and reading and especially being with her many friends and family which include Maggie and Neil Atkins, Bill and Margaret Freese and their daughters Alice and Fen, and Liz Reeve and her daughter Emma.  Betty was predeceased by her husband Howard.
