Obituary
Rushville- Douglas C. Hey, age 79, died on Tuesday, May 30th, 2017 as a result of an accident.
Friends may call Tuesday, (June 6th) from 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, (June 7th) at 11 a.m. at Crosswinds Wesleyan Church, 3360 Middle Cheshire Rd., Canandaigua. Burial will be in Gorham Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Middlesex Valley Volunteer Ambulance, 817 Rte. 245, Middlesex, NY 14507.
Doug was son of the late Carl and Grace Curtis Hey. He graduated from the Middlesex Valley Central School in 1956. Doug owned and operated Hey’s Enterprises, Inc. for many years. He was a member of the National Chapter of the Land Improvement Contractors of America. He served as president of the New York Chapter and the National Board.
Doug is survived by five children, LuAnn (Don) Modrow, Curt (Diane) Hey, Lisa (Jamie) Paulison, Lynn (Harry) McCurdy, Craig (Peggy) Hey; two adopted daughters, Morgan Hey and Abbey Hey; grandchildren, Jessica Paulison, Rachel (Cory) Otamendi, Andrew Paulison, Megan Hey, Aaron (Brooke) Modrow, Matt Hey, Hannah (Chaser) Hassell, Clark Hey, Summer McCurdy, Ella Hey and Faith McCurdy. He was predeceased by his grandson, Ryan Modrow in 2010.
Doug is also survived by two siblings, Ken (Sonia) Hey and Carolyn (Duane) Rigby; several nieces and nephews; and his friend, Ms. Chris Kruger.
