Obituary
Douglas A. Detro, age 72, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at his home in Melbourne Beach, FL.
A service for Douglas will be held Sunday, May 16, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Overackers Cemetery in Middlesex, New York.
Douglas was born on August 7, 1948, the son of Robert and Florence Detro. He was a graduate of Middlesex Valley Central School and a member of the 1965 and 1966 Section V Basketball Championship Teams. He graduated from East Texas State with a degree in accounting and was a retired businessman.
Douglas is survived by his 3 children, Mark (Donna) Detro, Andrea (Jeffrey) Deynzer, and Julie Detro Hopkins; his siblings Daniel Detro, Catherine Detro and Glenn Detro; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and their children.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Douglas’ name to Sea Turtle Preservation Society, 111 South Miramar Ave., Indialantic, FL 32903.
