Obituary
Canandaigua- Donald Stephen Wilson, age 77, died Monday June 7, 2021.
A Graveside Service will be held at Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Tuesday (June 15th) at 11 a.m., with full Military Honors.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Wilmot Cancer Center at Strong Memorial Hospital., 601 Elmwood Ave., Rochester, NY 14642.
Don was born Feb. 18, 1944 to the late Donald and Ann Rotunda Wilson. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1961 to 1980 and served on two tours in the Vietnam War on a Swift Boat, receiving multiple medals for his bravery. Don was also an excellent marksman, winning two Federal National Awards. Don is a member of the Shortsville Rod and Gun Club and the Buckhorn Gun Club in Phelps.
Don is survived by daughter, Connie (Jack) Trevithick; son, John (Michelle) Wilson; loving companion, Ruth Ann Chabot; grandchildren,
Patrick Heath Jr. and Jesse Wilson, Curtis and Abigail Wilson; great-grandchildren, Damian, Ariana, and Sienna Heath and Cameron and Carson Wilson; and close family friends, Bill and Michelle Rohring and their children, Thain and Daxon, and Allison and Brian Lazarus, and their son, Jackson.
