Obituary

Beloved husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, Donald Irwin Wickham, 82 of Victor, NY passed away on May 13, 2016.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday (May 20th) at 11 a.m. at the Canandaigua First United Methodist Church.

Ambassador Dr., Kansas City, MO, 64153; Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center, 2652 Ridgeway Ave., Rochester, NY 14626.

He was born March 22, 1934 and graduated from Cornell University in 1955. Don enjoyed a wonderful life alongside Bev. Their family was their greatest joy and accomplishment and they certainly enjoyed the company of many, dear friends. In his early years, Don’s love for farming was obvious in his work on the family farm – Tri-Way Farms. Later and most recently he enjoyed working alongside his children and grandchildren at Wickham Farms and Empire Farm Days.

Additionally, Don was a Director and President for Pro-Fac Cooperative, and Director for Curtice-Burns. He also served as a Director for the National Bank of Geneva and was appointed to the Board of the Buffalo Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank in 1983.

He cherished time spent with family and friends above all else. Don’s passion for life was obvious and contagious to all who knew him. Everyone benefitted from his positive outlook, candid insight and no nonsense attitude. He was a highly respected leader, who gave freely of his time, treasures and love.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Beverly, and the family they made together; son, Gregory (Lisa), grandchildren Lindsay, Scott (Christine) and Steven; son, Andrew (Melanie), grandchildren, Samantha (Mark) Schreck, Timothy, Benjamin and Daniel; son, Brian (Kim), grandchildren, Stephanie (Brennan) Marks, Christopher (Jacqueline), Nicholas (Kayla), Lisa and Keith Burley; son, William (Debbie), grandchildren Kevin, Paige and Dale; and daughter, Karen (Corey) Cartier, grandchildren Sara and CJ; great-grandson, Andy; nieces, Dr. Joanne Hessney; Susan (Larry) Schwartz; Jeffery (Monica) Hessney; and great- nieces, Samantha and Carly, and great-nephew, Benjamin; brother-in-law Robert Kimmerly and his family.

Don was predeceased by his parents, Dorothy and Irwin Wickham; sister and brother-in-law, Janet and John Hessney; and nephew, Steven Hessney.
