Obituary

Victor/Rushville – Donald Festus Blodgett, age 88, passed away on March 14, 2024.

A private graveside service will be held in Rushville Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Rushville History Room, P.O. Box 51, Rushville, NY 14454.

 Don was born July 25, 1935 in Penn Yan, NY. He was the son of the late Leslie and Elizabeth Best Blodgett.  He was a graduate of Middlesex Valley Central School. Don was retired from Xerox in Webster, NY.

Don was a history buff, and was the Historian in Rushville and enjoyed being part of the Rushville History Room. He also enjoyed motorcycles and loved to travel. Don was fascinated with genealogy. He was an all around handyman that could do anything that needed to be done.

Don is survived by his wife, Bernice Hotchkiss Blodgett; three children, Mark Blodgett, Scott (Laura) Blodgett and Michele (Curt) Cody; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Button, Annie (Roy) Ronalds, Kerry Blodgett, Katie Cody and Evan Cody; one brother, Leslie (Muriel) Blodgett; as well nieces and nephews.

Bea & Family, So sorry to hear of Don’s passing. I have fond memories of Don coming to the office and giving me a hard time about some insurance problem. Then he would break out in a smile and give me that grin. Plus his tales about riding his motorcycle. May he rest in peace. Jim
