Obituary
Hall- Denise L. Snook, age 66, passed away Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018, after a long illness.
Friends may call Thursday (Oct. 11th) from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. A Funeral Service will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ontario County Humane Society, 2976 Co. Rd. #48, Canandaigua, NY 14424; or the Seneca Presbyterian Church, 4414 Number Nine Rd., Stanley, NY 14561.
Denise was the daughter of the late William and Leona Pragle Symonds. She graduated from Gorham Central School in 1970 and from Alfred State College with an Associate’s Degree. Denise married Richard E. Snook, Jr. on Feb. 17, 1973 in Seneca Presbyterian Church, where she was a member.
Denise worked at the NYS Agricultural Experiment Station in Geneva for 17 years. Prior to that she worked at Eastman Kodak in Rochester.
One of Denise’s hobbies was working with rocks and minerals. She also loved and collected Indian artifacts. Denise was also a talented stained glass creator. She started and ran a furniture restoration business named “Aunt No-No’s” for many years.
Denise loved all animals, especially dogs. She had a lively personality and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She has been greatly missed.
Denise is survived by her husband of 45 years, Richard E. Snook, Jr.; one daughter, Rebecca (Michael) Castano; one son, Richard (Laura) Snook III; four grandchildren, Megan Castano, Troy Snook, Kendall Snook and Victoria Utter; twin sister, Darlene Sterman; brother, Robert (Peggy) Symonds; one niece, Sarah (Larry) Ansell; and two nephews, Greg (Michelle) Sterman and David (Cindy) Symonds.
Denise was predeceased by two brothers, William Symonds and Carl Symonds.
