Obituary
Rushville- David E. Johnson age 71, died Sunday, July 12, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Family and friends may call Wednesday (July 15th) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. Burial with full Military Honors will be in Rushville Cemetery, at the convenience of the family.
Dave was a graduate of Middlesex Central School in 1962 and a graduate of Alfred State College in 1965, with an Associate’s Degree in Agriculture. David was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving from 1965-1967 as a Special Forces Green Beret.
Dave owned Johnson’s Joint in Rushville until his retirement in 2013. He also owned and operated a farm on Blodgett Road until 1988. David worked construction for 3 years and was also employed as a truck driver, specializing in oversized loads for several years.
Dave was a member of the Penn Yan American Legion, Johnson-Costello Post #335, and the Naples V.F.W. James F. Moore Post # 8726.

David is survived by four children; Alan (Sherri Starr) Johnson, Jodi (Paul Milton) Johnson, Tammy (Daniel Fox) Johnson and Jordann Johnson; eleven grandchildren, Travis Leo, Joey Johnson, Chelsea Johnson, Cody Reik, Austin Reik, Joshua Bourne, Alan Mack, Ally Mack, Olivia Fox, Dana Fox and Matthew Fox; and sister, Bette Ann Johnson.
Dave was predeceased by one brother, Earl Johnson.
